It took me a while but I have finally found a great source for authentic mission furniture plans! needless to say I’m quite happy about it. One thing about these plans is that they assume you’re not a true rookie when it comes to woodworking. I’ll put up some descent pictures of the drawing that are provided.
Over the next few months I’ll post them one at a time. I hope these plans come in handy.

I don’t know if you’ve looked around lately but the price of solid wood chests- blanket chests, cedar chests, hope chests is getting pretty high. I found these plans for a hope chest that would make a perfect Christmas gift.

This is an intermediate skill level plan that does require a few tools, a jig saw, table saw stuff like that. Basically all the stuff you already have if you like working with wood. The plans are well laid out and easy to follow. Outside of the glue ups and such this hope chest can be built over a lazy, very lazy weekend. The trickiest part to the whole thing is the scroll work and if you cut out a template it shouldn’t be a problem especially if you choose to make it out of cedar. If your looking for Hope Chest plans this one is turns out beautiful.
